Inward reinsurance accounts for 63% of the whole portfolio of the company with foreign business generating USD 13 738 238 (9,15% of GWP in 2007).
In 2007 the company received authorization to transact reinsurance from the regulatory authorities of Jordan and Syria. Lemma is also approved as a reinsurer for the local market by the Egyptian Insurance Supervisory Authority as from 2005.
Company is approved by the security committees of dozens of brokers including Aon, Marsh and many others in the London and continental market as well as by a number of Middle East brokers.
Altogether Lemma accepts business from more than 30 foreign brokers providing reinsurance on both facultative and treaty basis for more then 60 ceding companies worldwide mainly MENA and GCC region.
Lemma is the only company in Ukraine and one of few in the MENA and GCC region which writes war on land and terrorism in the area.
Apart from traditional lines of non-life business Lemma provides export credit reinsurance for two European eximbanks and specialized credit insurers in respect of default by the Ukrainian buyers.
As a member of the Ukrainian Nuclear Pool Lemma accepts Nuclear Facilities Operators' liability from many other foreign nuclear pools on the international inter-pool arrangements.
Despites rather conservative policy in the foreign markets its foreign book of property and engineering business is protected by securely rated reinsurers from the continental and Asian markets on the XOL basis.
Local property and cargo business is covered by the Allianz Risk Transfer on the XOL basis and largest local reinsurers on the XOL and proportional basis.
